SUSTAINABLE ART, IMPACTFUL COMMUNITY.

Visualizing Palestine is a Palestinian non-profit that began in 2012. Their work focuses on creating infographics and sometimes also short narrative comics that counter propaganda that intentionally aims to erase and paint a negative image of the Palestinian identity. As Palestine  struggles still to receive the benefits of a ceasefire, these infographics help to further promote lasting peace in Palestine and the total freedom of its people. This is why the work that Visualizing Palestine does is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

As propaganda eschews the public’s perception of the genocide in Palestine, and the barrage of media reporting seems to fly by without end, the infographics by Visualizing Palestine help people to understand easily and clearly the matter at hand without having to go through bulky text materials. In 2024, the organization focused on creating infographics on four key subjects: the contextualization of the genocide, the targeting of children in Palestine, the gendered impact of Israeli violence and its repression of dissenting voices. These efforts culminated in the publishing of their first book, Visualizing Palestine: a Chronicle of Colonialism and the Struggle for Liberation.

By the end of 2024, Visualizing Palestine had also raised USD 26,000 to help the organization continue its operations for yet another year. As a non-profit, they host continued fundraising efforts, which includes a membership programme. The longevity of their efforts are especially required in 2025 as in early February 2025, President Trump declared that the United States would “take over” and “own” Gaza, citing plans for the resettlement of Palestinians during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s first official visit to the White House since he became President.

Visualizing Palestine plays a crucial role in countering propaganda and amplifying Palestinian voices through clear, impactful infographics. By simplifying complex issues and making them accessible to a global audience, the organization challenges misinformation and advocates for Palestinian liberation. As ongoing conflicts and geopolitical shifts threaten Palestinian rights, their work remains essential in pushing for justice and accountability.
